For international devotees who would like to transfer the donation money (in foreign currency) to Appamada Vihari Meditation Center, you can either do a wire transfer (to Malaysia PUBLIC BANK BERHAD – Account information and SWIFT CODE as shown above in Bank Details section), or use Wise (formerly known as TransferWise) money transfer service.
We would recommend you to use Wise (formerly known as TransferWise) money transfer service to transfer the foreign currency to AVMC Bank account above, as we believe this is a cheaper and faster way to send money to our center.

If you are new to Wise money transfer, please refer to the instruction below.
First Step: Add AVMC bank account as a recipient in your Wise account.
Please follow the steps as shown in Figure 1, 2 and 3 below.
To transfer money to AVMC bank account, please select “A business / charity” option.
FIll in the details as below:
1. Currency: MYR
2. Their email: appamadavihari@gmail.com
3. Choose option “Send to a different account” (highlighted as B in screenshot). Please DON’T choose the option to use existing record stored in Wise (highlighted as A in screenshot).
4. Choose “Local bank account”
1. Fill in the Bank Details as shown. You can copy-and-paste from the Bank Details section above.
2. Click Confirm button.
Second Step: Send money to a recipient.
Upon successful adding a new recipient as above, you will be able to send money by clicking Send Money button from the Recipients tab for current and future transfers.
Next, fill in the amount of the money transfer, and click Continue.
Review the details and click Confirm if everything is correct.
You will then be asked additional information and to review details one more time as shown in Figure 4, 5 and 6 below.
Next, you may select transfer purpose as “Charitable donations” and click Continue.
This is the final review screen. Please review the transfer details thoroughly, and if everything is correct, click Confirm.
If the transfer transaction has been created successfully in previous steps, you should see the transfer shown as In Progress in the Home tab.
However, if you see the error “Recipient address is mandatory for this payment, please update or create a new recipient.” and you could not click Confirm button in the final review screen, it means that you have selected the option to use the existing record stored in Wise previously (Please see Figure 2 above, highlighted as A).
Some countries have regulations that require additional recipient address to be provided by the sender specifically.
To fix this error, you will need to go back to Recipients tab, remove the existing recipient by clicking on the Delete Recipient button, and re-create a new Recipient again. Please choose the option “Send to a different account” (highlighted as B in Figure 2 above) this time.
